Struggling

Hi, I am 19 months post diagnosis and 1 year post end of treatment for Bowel cancer, surgery and chemo.  Unsure why I feel worse now than I did at and during diagnosis and treatment. I was so eager to back to my life and work, now I’m exhausted always putting a happy face on for everyone whilst I feel like I have dropped all the balls and lost all my ducks.

I have a fabulous bowel nurse who saw and made me take time to deal with everything, but don’t quite know where to start.

  • Hello Shelso1

I'm sorry to hear how you're feeling, so it's important to give yourself space and time. It's natural to feel tired or a bit down so being kind to yourself is important. On our website, there is advice on coping with bowel cancer and don't be afraid to talk to people close to you about how you're feeling, as well as your bowel nurse.

I hope this helps and take care of yourself,

    Hello

I recognise this from caring for someone a few years ago. More than likely you were in auto pilot, busy dealing with everything then all of a sudden you have more time to think, about other things, and how it has affected you. Take small steps, be kind to yourself, get out in nature if you can, it works wonders. Take a deep breath. You are so strong to have got where you are. Best wishes
