Hi everyone. I’ve been referred for an urgent brain scan but waiting for the scan date is horrible. How long do most people have to wait for this kind of MRI and how do you cope with the waiting around. Thank you
I'm sorry to hear you've been referred for a brain scan Rose_Flower. I know this must be a very scary and worrying time.

Thank you for your comment. I’ve got 2 MRI’s on Saturday, one for my lumber spine and another for my cervical neck so I’m hoping that might be able to do my brain scan at the same time…
Do you know the average wait time for a brain scan? I’ve just Waited 10 weeks for my neck and back scans.
Unfortunately I don't but as many of our members have found out, waiting times can differ depending on what part of the country you're in and if the hospital department is dealing with any backlogs.
As the hospital are the only ones who can really answer this question, it may be worth getting in touch with them to find out, and if it helps, letting them know you're willing to take any cancellations that pop up as it may help you be seen sooner.

Hiya. I had all of my scans on Saturday, brain, neck and spine!! If there was something really bad on the scans would they make contact with me pretty fast? Or would I still have to wait 2-3 weeks like they told me on the day. Thank you everyone
