Suspected melanoma

Hi all, 

I’m 44 with a two-year-old son and have been diagnosed with a suspected melanoma. Unfortunately the waiting list for my removal operation is 3 months and I’m very concerned about the potential for it to spread and become life threatening in this time. 
I’m looking at private options too but the waiting times are fairly lengthy too. I’m panicking and feel really stuck. Does anyone have any experience of this or advice?

    I'm sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with a suspected melanoma. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about this and the length of time you've been told you may have to wait for the removal operation. 

    We know that many people are experiencing delays at the moment and from the posts we've read here on the forum, dermatology services do seem to be having this problem across the UK. 

    I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk through your concerns with one of our team of nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
