I am so sorry that your mum has been in pain since being diagnosed with bladder cancer. Our website has detailed information on cancer and pain control you might be interested in having a look at. You will find there the different ways of treating cancer pain - have a look in particular at the section on types of painkillers where you will find out more about the types of non opioid drugs your mum might be able to take. It is important though to talk to her doctor/ medical team about what drugs would be most suitable to her given her age for example and the type of cancer she has been diagnosed with. They will be in the best position to advise you on what would work best for her and ensure that she is no longer in pain.
