Supporting husband - he's been told he will need to have his testicle removed

Hi, my hubby was diagnosed with a testicular tumour on the 31st January by ultrasound scan, as of today we still have not had an appointment with the hospital, despite him having surgery for a hydrocele in December, he developed sepsis after it and was readmitted boxing day where he spent a few weeks, we thought he was recovered and well again, at his discharge scan (to make sure all was healed) he was diagnosed with an unusual rumour (technicians words) and told he needed to have his testicle removed as soon as possible, I’m worried sick with the wait, but trying not to show him as he’s quite laid back about it, thanks for reading

  • Hi bb61,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of the situation with your husband - I can of course completely understand this is causing some worry, although it's good to hear that he is feeling OK about it.

I can see you have also posted in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum and received a reply from one of our nurses, so I hope that has been helpful, and as they said you can chase this up soon if you haven't heard back.

Hopefully you will hear back about the appointment soon. In the meantime try to take things a day at a time and keep busy to help keep your mind off the worries - often easier said than done I know.

This forum is always here for you if you ever need the support or just want to write things down.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
