Metastatic Melanoma - my journey

Hi I was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma on Dec 4th 2023 I had a little lump removed from my calf, I thought it was just a fatty lump, the thing that the doctors couldn’t understand was there was no mole or blemish where the tumour was found.
I was then followed up by dermatology who gave me a full body check, as they are now looking for the primary? Nothing found on body check, next CT & PET scan which came back clear. 4 weeks ago I had a wider incision operation, once again no cancer cells found.
The wider incision op is taking a while to heal due to it being in the back of my calf, luckily the surgeon was able to close the wound, but there is still the chance it could split open, I have a huge hollow where the wider incision was taken from. I can live with that.
So I’m cancer free, and feeling very optimistic about the future now, of course I will be checked every 3 months by doctors, and a CT scan every 6 months.
Please stay positive as there is light at the end of the tunnel.
