Hello - wife diagnosed with cancer for a second time. Where can carers get support?

Hi I am Bob I do not have cancer but my wife has breast cancer for the second time. First time around she had the lump removed radio therapy and chemotherapy, after three years she was given the all clear. Then two years later it has turned up again in an inoperable position in her neck. She had radio therapy again  and is now permanently on drugs to keep the cancer in check. To date this has worked but the side effects have sapped her stamina. We both love each other and soldier on she has support if needed. I do get down sometimes with no help for carers but I  do get over it. Is there anywhere that the carers can get support.

  • Hello Bob,

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for sharing your story with us. It's clear that you and your wife have faced significant challenges together, and your support for each other is commendable.

Caring for a loved one with cancer can be tough, and it's normal to feel overwhelmed at times. There are resources available for caregivers like yourself who may need guidance and support, with this in mind there's a page from our website I wanted to share with you called Family, friends and caregivers which addresses how cancer affects family and friends.

Remember, you're not alone in this journey, our community is here to offer support.

    Best wishes to you both,
