Surgery to remove tumour on ear

I have recently had surgery to remove a tumour on the outer ear.

It seems the tumour had grown on the pinna and along to the bottom of my ear.

At the moment it is inflamed, sore and has plenty of stitches.

I now have to wait 3 weeks for the biopsy results.

What  worry! Do you think if it is cancerous once it has all been taken out it cannot now spread.

Regards

Mr.John

  • Hello Mr.John and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear you needed to have a tumour removed from your outer ear but I'm glad the surgery was a success and despite the soreness, I hope your recovery is going well.

I know the 3 week wait you now have for your biopsy results is going to be tough but our community are here for you and I'm sure some of our members will stop by when they can to offer their support during this anxious time.

Unfortunately I cannot answer the question you've asked at the end of your post, but if you'd like to discuss this further with one of our cancer nurses, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very well informed and will do all they can to ease your mind whilst you wait.

We're thinking of you Mr.John and hope your biopsy results bring good news when the time comes.

    Kind regards,
