My mum has stage 4, incurable lung cancer

Hi,

My mum has recently been diagnosed with stage 4, incurable lung cancer and she is in her very early 60,s.

How to you all cope? X

  • Hello Ste-js

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's recent diagnosis. It's obviously a difficult time for you all and natural that you may have questions and concerns.

Has your Mum been offered any treatment options to help manage her cancer or maybe she is still waiting on further tests and information from the specialists?

We know that for many people hearing that a loved one has an incurable diagnosis can be very difficult. If you can avoid searching the internet for answers as often we find that people are left even more anxious and worried. Try not to look too far ahead as this also can leave people feeling overwhelmed by things.

If you think it may help you to talk things through with someone you're' welcome to contact our team of nurses. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information, and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040. Keep in touch Ste-js and let us know how you and your Mum are getting on. We'll do our best to offer any support we can.

    Best wishes to you both,
