Cinders99 NSCLC

Hello - I .was diagnosed with Stage 3 Unresectable NSCLC with 2 genetic variants - EGFR and MET Exon 14 skipping variants.

I have been treated with Concurrent Chemo Radiotherapy. Cisplatin + Vinorelbine, 30 # Radiotherapy (60 Gy) finished 12 Jan.

I haven't had post treatment CT scan yet. Have to wait 8 - 10 weeks and am in a state of limbo and reading up on it a lot.

I am worried about recurrence as have read that EGFR mutations may be more prone to develop metastases (especially distant ones).

Does anyone else have experience of the above?

  • Hello Cinders99

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like you've been through a lot over the past months.

It's understandable that you're feeling anxious ahead of your next post-treatment scan and I know that many people will understand the anxiety that this period of waiting can bring.

Do you have a nurse specialist that you were given contact details for when you were diagnosed? If so then I'd certainly recommend getting in touch with them to talk through your concerns. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance.

Alternatively, if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

I hope that your first post-treatment scan brings some positive news for you. Do keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
