New cancer victim - diagnosed with breast cancer last month, struggling with my medication. Can anyone help?

Hey every1 I was diagnosed with breast cancer 3rd january what a journey it has been I feel overwhelmed  by everything .  I had the operation on the 19th to cut it away and I'm in so much pain I'm so constipated by medication that I'm on help can any1  give me any advice plz

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with the medication. The best thing is to discuss this with your doctor when you can, as they will be best placed to advise and offer some support to help ease this.

    You are welcome to post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum if you would like to get the thoughts of one of our nurses, but as I say do speak to your doctor when you can if the difficulties continue.

    I hope it improves soon, and we are always here for support on the forum if ever you need it.

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    I am sorry to hear that you have started out on your cancer journey too. It is very overwhelming to start with when everything is happening so quickly, yet not quickly enough for our liking. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with the medication you are taking. Can I ask what medication this is? The best thing to do is to phone your breast care nurse and see what she advises. I was prescribed Cosmocol for this. Some of the medication for constipation is very sweet and sickly. There are different flavours of Cosmocol and I don't find this too bad.
