After Pains

Morning all,

I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer last March and had my operation of a lumpectomy, reconstruction and lift in April last year.  I also had 3 lymph nodes removed from the left side.

I have since had Chemo and radio therapy and now have the bone infusions every 6 months as the treatment has left my bones very brittle.  I have numbness in my finger tips and toes and both of my big toes have since been infected.

What I am experiencing now is, in the last 2 weeks I have been getting a lot of tenderness around where the lymph nodes were removed, I cant reach up and put my hand/arm above my head like I have been doing.  Also, I have been getting a lot of tenderness around the left breast, mainly at the top.  It feels bruised and sore and I am finding it very hard to lay on my left side again.  I havent contacted anyone as I am too frightened again.  If anyone has any advice or has expireced anything similar I would be very greatful for the chat.

Many thanks all x

  • Hi Jo2477,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties you're experiencing. Your doctor would of course be the best person to speak to about this, as they will be best placed to advise specifically to you. However I appreciate you have come here looking for similar experiences, so hopefully you'll get some more replies here soon.

You are also welcome to speak to our nurses if you would like to talk things through. You can either post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum, or you can call freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,
