Hi there, just joined up

Simon here.

Was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022. Had operation to remove then biopsy under my arm to find it spread to lymph nodes. Had 12 months immunotherapy and regular checks. Treatment finished last October. Now no contact with anyone. Just hoping I get appointments through for my check ups. Had no communication from my oncologist since treatment ended. Sometimes feel I've been left to get on with it.

  • Hi Simon,

I'm really sorry to hear you've been left with no further appointment or contact. Do you have the contact number of your CNS - if so, give them a ring & find out what's happening. It may be that, when your oncology treatment finished, they passed you back to either Dermatology or Plastics for continued monitoring but the request may have fallen into that black hole the NHS sometimes have. Don't be afraid to be persistent - if you have no CNS contact number ring the secretary for the oncologist - they should be able to tell you what happened after your last appointment. You can then track from there to see who hasn't picked up your transfer.

Meanwhile I will send you a friend request. If you accept it we can chat by private message. Good luck & I hope you can get an answer and an appointment quickly.

Angie (Stage 3 melanoma patient since 2009)
