Hi following a routine 3 year mammogram and diagnosed 5 Jan 24 with ER+ PR+ HER2- Stage 1 tubular breast cancer. Lumpectomy 26 Jan and Sentinel lymph node removal. Radiotherapy in 7 weeks. Everything happening at great speed fortunately. Fingers crossed for follow up consultation on 8 feb re pathology and treatment. What Cancer blocking medication are people taking post surgery?

  • Hi Yvonne,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad to hear that the routine mammogram picked this up and that you have caught it early. I hope that you are recovering well following surgery. It is always an anxious wait for your pathology results, but here's hoping that all comes back clear.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer, a year apart. I took Tamoxifen for the first year and changed to Letrozole for the second bout. That was all 14 years ago and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life. I'm sure that you will too.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on next week. Remember that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • I was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer in Feb 2023 - had chemo x 7 (EC Docitaxel) followed by surgery (therapeutic mammoplasty) followed by radiotherapy x20. Now on a newish treatment called Kadcyla which is similar to Phesgo but has an element of chemo in (14 infusions through my port) - as well as Zoledronic Acid (for 3 years) and Anastrazole (for 10 years)

I was hoping treatment would be over in 2023 but now facing more in 2024 - struggling with his and the anniversary of being told I had cancer. Trying to stay positive but it is hard at times….

Only you know what you’re going through x

    stay strong x
