Hi, I've been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in two areas of breast. MRI shows area in between also has cancer cells, so need a mastectomy. Due to being HER2 positive, I will need chemo first and also need to take Herceptin. I have been told that chemo will probably start in 5 or 6 weeks, but haven't seen oncologist yet. This seems such a long time to wait! How have you found the chemo process?

I’m sorry to hear that… I’m not gonna lie chemo has been hard but I had a great reduction in my halfway mri, so all worth it.. You will get through it, it’s so intense when you first get diagnosed, so many appointments but it will settle down once your start chemo… You will start to get used to what I call your “new life”

Thank you for your reply, it all seems a bit surreal at the moment. So pleasedt that you're doing so well and good luck with your surgery. I have a ct scan on Monday, to see if it's spread anywhere else. Waiting for these results will be difficult.

All the waiting and the unknown is horrible but stay positive…  We are all on here to support each other… Stay strong #warrior

Thank you, chatting to others going through the same thing is so reassuring. Any idea how long you have to wait for your operation, once chemo is finished?

Yeah it helps so much… My last chemo is the 15th Feb, then my op is the 12th March… Not looking forward to being under for 8-10 hours  and being away for my little boy :(

I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad to see that you on on the last leg of your chemo. Unfortunately, sleep problems seem to accompany this journey and there is often someone around for you in the early hours of the morning.
