Hi, I have been diagnosed with hormone induced breast cancer. Surgery due 13th Feb. Any tips to cope with effects?
Sorry to hear you have recently been diagnosed I was also diagnosed last Thursday and mine is oestrogen fed . Waiting to see If HER2 positive or negative, which will determine if surgery is first or if I need chemo first. Hope your surgery goes well.
Sorry to you too. I have malignant calcifications but HER2 negative, had two biopsies, MRI and got various appointments before surgery on the 13th Feb. I stopped taking HRT on 15/12 (diagnosis day) and not sleeping great and aches and some hot flushes are back. It’s all a bit scary but appointments have been quick so hopefully it will be the same for you x
Great that you already have date for surgery, really want to get my treatment started. I also stopped hrt when diagnosed and getting a few hot flushes, not too bad though. I have mri on Tuesday and appointment with consultant on Thursday. Just waiting for ct scan appointment now. Once everything done will hopefully get a timeliness for treatment. Good luck with you surgery on the 13th, hope all goes well.
HI Aly,
A very warm welcome to our forum.
I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but glad to hear that you have a date for surgery. What type of surgery are you going to have and what treatments are you considering? I had 2 bouts of breast cancer within a year of one another. I had a lumpectomy first time around and a double mastectomy for the second bout. It was all very "doable" and I am still here, leading a busy life, 14 years on. Have you any specific questions you want answers to?
Please keep in touch. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
