Been called in for a scan & talk to consultant

Hi everyone,

I have recently been undergoing some tests, including a biopsy Due to HPV and transvaginal ultrasound.
the ultrasound scan found a cyst which my doctor told me they would monitor in 3 months time.
it has been only 3 weeks since my scan and the hospital has asked me to come back in next week for a second and ‘more in depth’ scan and I have a meeting with the consultant straight after a second scan.

I am trying my best not to worry as I live by ‘no point worrying twice’ and it may be find but was wondering if anyone has been in the same situation and has any advice or words to help me not stress too much?

I also don’t believe this is the results of my biopsy, but could be wrong.

thank you in advance!

  • Hello Gemma1986

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been undergoing some investigations and that you've been asked to come back for further tests and an appointment with the Consultant later this week. It's understandable that you may have some questions and concerns about things.

Trying to have a positive approach to waiting for your results and the appointment is a good tactic, particularly when so many people find this period of waiting to be quite difficult. Hopefully when you see the specialist next week they will be able to give you some answers and reassurance.

In the meantime, if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can along with helping you think about any questions you might want to ask the Drs. If you'd like to talk with the team they're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch Gemma and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
