New diagnosis, grade 1 endometrial cancer

Hi,

I just found out on the 27th of December, that I have grade 1 endometrial cancer. Waiting on MRI and CT scans to find out more which is driving me mad with worry. I’m 34 and have no children (partner and I have been trying for a while) so this has came as a big shock.
I had a smear test in 2022 and it came back clear, but after having some symptoms in 2023 they found that I had extra thickening of the lining in my womb. I was sent for a hysteroscopy and a D&C and this is what they found. Has anyone else had the same experience? And what treatment did you have? I would obviously love to have children in the future but don’t know if this is possible.

thanks in advance x

  • Hi Carmar,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I am afraid I cannot share any experiences but I understand that the smear test only covers the cervical cancer because of the risk of the papiloma virus.

I am awaiting diagnosis for ovarian problems and originally started having tests because of heavy bleeding during my periods due to a fibroid.

It is a very unsettling time for you especially because of implications for the future and worring about not being able to have children but I am glad it has been caught at an early stage.

Hope the treatment goes smoothly and best wishes for the future.
