Worried I have ovarian cancer

I have just been referred for an urgent scan as my CA125 levels were 69, bloods were taken as I have a very swollen tummy for the last 2 weeks, I have suffered from chronic constipation for well over a year so over Christmas & new year they have given me every laxative/enema you can think of but my tummy didn’t go down after bowel movements. I also have a dull ache above my public bone and my back is aching … I am terrified that if I do have it I may have had it for a long while … this scan cannot come quick enough .. it was requested last Thursday … my tummy is huge and feels like it’s getting bigger each day!

  • Hi Lyndo and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to hear about the symptoms you've been having. When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be natural to think the worst, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor. You can find information on what to expect from your next appointment here, which help you feel ore prepared. I hope your scan goes ok and don't afraid to ask questions or raise any concerns you may have.

    All the best,
