Concerned after finding small lump

Hi, I’m new here. I was diagnosed with ER+ and HER 2+ breast cancer in 2021. I had surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and an injection for a year afterwards. I have had a slow recovery with issues in my shoulder, arm,  breast, back (other side of breast) which I believe to be a result of radiotherapy. I’ve had ongoing issues trying to fully raise my right arm which is painful. Thankfully had a clear mri and ct last year which is the best news.

I have recently found a small lump in the middle of the palm of my hand. I’m sure anyone who’s been through cancer treatment and finding another lump of any size sends your mind racing. This may be nothing at all but should I be getting this checked out or am I just overthinking it?

thanks for taking the time to read this

  • Hi San,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear of what you've been through and understand your concerns. I am delighted to heart hat your CT & MRI last year were both clear. This is always a great relief. I had 2 bouts of breast cancer myself, but that was all 14 years ago and I still lead a busy life.

I found a small lump on my forearm, after my second surgery and had this investigated - fortunately, it turned out to be a lipoma (fatty lump). Yours may possibly turn out to be something similar, but do get it checked out, even if only for your own peace of mind.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
