I am 32 and I found a lump in my breast about 3 weeks ago, it is painful which I was told was a good sign I saw my doctor and he said it feels like a cyst but would send me for test to be safe, I went to the breast clinic where the doctor there felt it and said it felt like a cyst aswell, I had an ultrasound then had to have a mammogram and a biospy by this point I had guessed it wasn't a cyst. I then had to see the doctor after all these test and he said what they found was very suspicious of cancer and that he is 90% sure that's what it is. But what confusing me is he then said they have found it early and that's it hasn't spread to my lymph nodes and it is very treatable and that i should bring someone with me to my next appointment, i had the letter about the appointment in the post and at the bottom it says i may need more test before they can finalise my treatment plan . I had my letter today asking me to come back in next week and to bring someone with me.
I'm just confused when the doctor said it was caught early and it hasnt spread and the fact my letter say before they finalise my treatment plan. Is this them saying it is cancer? As a small part of me is still hoping when I have my result that they will be clear or am I being silly and not facing what the doctor is saying?
Very confusing and scary time for me.
