GP wants to discuss results of Ultrasound

Hi all, first post so appreciate any opinions.

For the past approx 10 weeks I've had consistent extreme fatigue, nausea (particularly at night) and over the past week very mild stomach pains.

I've had 3 different blood tests which all came back normal as well as physical examinations of the abdomen and also had a private MRI scan of my head,  which I initially thought may be the issue as I was having headaches which have since stopped.

I recently had an ultrasound done on 27th Dec and have just had a call back from the doctors surgery to go In for an appointment to discuss the results next Tuesday 9th. The sonographer did mention that my spleen was enlarged buy said this could be down to a number of things.

I've not stopped worrying about this since and have made the mistake of using Google to diagnose something horrible. Just wanted to know if anyone had similar symptoms to mine before being diagnosed. Have a young family and the worry is starting to affect us all now.

Thankyou

  • Hi Jamesisere,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your worries. It is impossible to be sure what your ultrasound has revealed, as there could be either good or bad results. Having said this, I sincerely hope that they will be good. You have done the worst thing that anybody could possibly do faced with this situation. You have consulted "Dr Google". This topics here are all based on the more spectacular cases, won't apply to you, won't give you any answers, but will scare you even more. We always advise people to stay away from it and to stick to the more respected sites, in the early days.

I am afraid that I have no experience of this type of cancer. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer, but I saw that nobody has replied to your post yet and I know just what a worrying time this can be. I sincerely hope that all goes well for you on Tuesday. Please come back and let us know how you get on.. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine
