Hi newbie. Breast cancer diagnosis 42

Juts wanted to say hi.

Got diagnosed with breast cancer last week. It was a massive shock. I felt a lump end of November, pure luck, the position I was lying in while in bed. Felt tiny but thought best get checked. In certain positions I can’t feel anything.

Got biopsied, which shocked me, and mammograms. I still thought it would be nothing, so to be told it’s cancer week before Christmas was a massive shock.

my 6yr old got diagnosed with Tcell lymphoma/leukaemia in June last year and we are juts getting to the maintenance part of his treatment when I will likely have my op! Such an awful year!

juts wanted to say hi to people,

  • Hello Rooftile

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and all that you've been through with your son over the past few months. I'm sure that it's been a difficult time for you all but I hope you were able to spend some time together enjoying yourselves over the festive period.

It's good to hear that things have progressed well with your son's treatment and hopefully things will also go smoothly for you over the coming months.

Do you have a date for your surgery? Hopefully the team has been able to give you some reassurance about these next steps but if there's anything you'd like to chat through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to offer any advice and support they can.

Keep in touch Rooftile and let us know how you're all doing when you're able to.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn, thanks for your reply.its been really difficult, juts thought we were about to get back to some normal and BAM this news came… but we are o.k. Tried to have some good times at Christmas.

Approximate date for surgery is last week in January, have an appointment 11th Jan to discuss everything, I needed an MRI to confirm everything.

I just want it out and treatment done as soon as possible.

Thanks for you reply. kind Regards
