I was told no Chemo then it changed to Chemo then had the Oncotype low score then no chemo , hopefully it will be the same for you good luck xx 

How long did you have to wait for the oncotype score?x

About 10 days 

I no how you feel it was the worst time as I was told all along no chemo , then all of a sudden they said chemo my world fell appart demand the Oncotype test I did lol 

So they don't just offer the test, you have to request it?

I was only told about the possibility of chemo on the morning of my op, it floored me a bit.  Well done for coming onto this forum I have only been able to come on now.  But I identified so closely with your question I wanted to reply.  What I tried to think to myself was deal with things when or if they come up - they might never come up?

Yes you have to as it’s around £3590 my private insurance paid for it but nhs do it too

The surgeon said he cant see me having chemo but we won't know for sure until my results after my op.

He also said that the duration of radiotherapy can't be given until the results. 

I know what you mean, no point worrying. I just can't bare the thought of chemo. My dad had chemo and it made him really bad x

Yes  I was told this all along they sprung it on me I was going insane with worry like you but it might not happen , when do you get your results ? 

I get the results on the 17th January.

How big was your lump? Mine was 2.7

Yes it’s a very worrying time altogether and even when I was told I did not need tamoxifen and only 5 days of radiotherapy it took me weeks to accept this.  It’s not possible to go from weeks of heightened anxiety about something so serious to thinking everything is great. Time does make things better though.  Even on the morning of my first radiotherapy I was thinking do I need to put myself through this? One day at a time and be kind to yourself please.  The morning I went for my results I was shaking so much I couldn’t put earrings in.  Now I feel that’s in the past.

I think until you ho through it, it's hard understand the stress it all cause x

Absolutely, I really was worried sick about the side effects of tamoxifen which I don’t need to take and even coming off HRT which I had to do straight away on diagnosis.  

I'm glad you didn't need the tablets in the end xx

Do you have to take tamoxifen? 
these are absolutely fine don’t listen to any horror stories honestly, a few flushes here and there but the brabds make a difference I will only take tillomed brand I’ve been on them 14 months I feel amazing now xx 

I was told before my operation that hormone tablets were likely but I wasn't told which ones. Surgeon said at the time that we can talk about which ones would be right for me when I'm back in January 

Hopefully things will be clearer when I get the results 

I wasn’t through the menapause so I was out on tamoxifen I think if your not through it most ladies get tamoxifen x 

Aah ok, I still get periods xx

Please remember what I told you about brand though as I had a relon brand I was so sleepy all day felt like a drip I binned them your chemist will order your brand of choice if you ask them x 

Yes it will probably be tamoxifen if your not through the menapause they can blood test you to check your status mine come back pre menopause
