Awaiting Test Results after Lumpectomy/ Treatment Plan

Hi,

I had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed on the 12th December and I'm due to go back to the hospital on the 17th January to get my results back.

Before my operation I was told that I'm more than likely going to be having radiotherapy followed by hormone tablets.

Has anyone been through any experiences where this has been/ mot been the case once the results came back.

I.e did the treatment change

Thanking you all in advance

  • Hi anjaya,  I had my lumpectomy and node removal on the 7th Nov.  Was told radio and hormone therapy also.  When I went for results from the surgery,  I was told 1 out of the 2 nodes was positive, so they sent it off for an oncotype test to see if I would need more surgery or chemo.  Luckily this test score came back low so I will still only have hormone treatment and 1 week of radiotherapy.
