Unsure what to ask Consultant - neuroendocrine tumours found after slow growing cancer in lungs was removed

Hi everyone and I hope you have all had as nice a Christmas as possible. I recently had a slow growing cancer removed from my lungs but they also found multiple neuro endocrine tumours which has not yet really been discussed with me. My initial cancer was diagnosed after a CT scan following a chronic cough - the cough had nothing to do with the initial diagnosis however when I googles the NETS if does say it can be connected to a cough.  I don’t want the Doctors to think I am diagnosing myself but has anyone else had this?

Thanks in advance for reading

  • Hi Liz,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. We would always recommend asking any and all questions you have to your doctor - it's important that you get the information and understanding that you need.

If you'd like to speak to our nurses in the meantime, you are welcome to post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum, or you can also reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5 (excluding holidays).

Otherwise, if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully you'll get some more replies soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
