Recently been told I have stage iv bile duct cysts

hey sorry to bother you all but in 2020 I got diagnosed with bile duct cyst but then never heard anything more about it I’ve always been sick since a child with all the same symptoms I have now but because of Covid it was as if they just forgot about me I have been in hospital 60 times since that diagnosis and each time nothing was ever brought up about this illness they tried to put it down to ibs I was in hospital for nearly 5 months and they still never said anything then I got admitted to another hospital and in one day I saw 3 surgeons asking did I know I had this they referred me to the specialist doctor who decided that I wasn’t a viable candidate for surgery due to my ill health and basically saying that I wouldn’t make it off the table this is now in 2023 I have been told I have Iv stage 4 cysts of the bile duct. Does this mean I have cancer I mean the symptoms are getting worse every day the itching fatigue and sickness and swelling and pain in  upper right quadrant I’ve been coughing up blood not a lot my my joints and muscles hurt please can anyone give me some advice do I have cancer?

  • Hello Arsenal123 and welcome to the forum.

I'm very sorry to read what you have been through and also the lack of clarity you have on your situation. This must be very upsetting and stressful.

Unfortunately no-one here can really answer that question, only your GP or medical team can, so once the festive season is over do try and see if you can try speaking with them to find out more.

Our cancer nurses will also be available from 9a.m tomorrow, so if you'd like to talk this through with them you're very welcome to do so on 0808 800 4040.

If you continue to cough up blood please make sure you seek medical advice, whether that be through your GP or the NHS on 111.

We're thinking of you Arsenal and will have our fingers crossed you're able to get some answers soon.

    Kind regards,
