Do I wait until after Christmas to start treatment

Hi everyone

I have just been diagnosed with T3B gleason 4+4 And have a PSA of 87. No mets and no node activity.

Seeing consultant on Friday and expect she will want to put me on hormone therapy immediately followed by prostatectomy.

I want to enjoy Christmas with my family. Is there any harm in maybe allowing myself that luxury or in your opinion do I just get on with it and suffer the side effects immediately regardless of wanting to spend a decent Christmas with my family ? In other words .... do I even have that luxury?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated to help me make the right decisions

sorry to hear this however this may sound cold but I would start treatment asap as you have many more Christmas to come try and just do it sorry if it’s not what you wanted to hear I’m just giving my honest opinion

Hello Rory ,I don’t think the hormone therapy will make you feel that ill ,and you will enjoy Christmas too . Maybe you will have a bit of the menopausal sweats . But I think you should go for it xx

Hi I actually agree with Lara ,I would definitely start your treatment as soon as you possibly can ,who knows there could be some kind of delay for your treatment after Christmas , its one Day its nowhere near as important as your health .

Thank you for your considered response. Its very kind of you even if its not what I want to hear but maybe need to hear. Only trouble is NOW I have to admit my wife is right ...AGAIN !!
