I'm Lisa, I've been HPV cervical cancer cancer Positive for 2yrs and my Gp surgery nurses offer no support,  neither have the Gp's when I challenged him/her on ANY kinds of Biopsies after 2yrs regardless of NO abnormal cells found. AND there's a test the GP should & Could send you for and it's called "colposcopy" but NOBODY gets these. As the NHS gatekeepers don't see it as urgent and some cases go undetected. I have no family support, or friends. I am on my own genuinely trying to deal with this while helping everyone else with their troubles and no one really asks " so.... How are you, REALLY? I wanna break down, there's times I just cry and my heartbreaks ;-( xAr you ok out there? Hugs and love

    NHS guidelines are HPV positive then recall in one year for a further test. It is expected that HPV is cleared within 2 years by your immune system. If you still have HPV after 2 years you will be invited for a colposcopy. The colposcopy appointment will come separately after you have received your smear test results. The  colposcopy will check your cervix and the doctor may take a sample of cells for biopsy or  you may go back on a 12 month smear test recall. IF you have been HPV positive for 2 years you will definitely be referred to  colposcopy and the appointment will be sent to you from your local colposcopy department which is usually at your local hospital

    Hi Karen, thanks for the reply and information. I was never invited anywhere. I'm awaiting for my 3rd smear to come back for my HPV cervical cancer, this will be 3 yrs in a row, no break, no visits anywhere and no nhs letters for one of those Biopsies or a Colposcopy... nothing.Even thw nursing staff doing my smear did not beleive that I can have my smear up to 3 months prior to my anniversary date... she would not beleive me. And rhat made me feel, unheard,  like I'm just not visible, that they don't update their own training and I'm nervous. I've now Bowel screening that wanna peice of me along with breast screaming...but I can only deal with one at a time. I've had p.i.d, endometriosis to bad stages with PCOS & Fibrois and 2 abrasions which put me straight into menopause 2 yrs ago.. and no hot or support about that either. ..your have to fight for everything at this surgwry or ai jave to seem to be ans I don't know why. My memory's also being affected, I've tempers ans everything is bla.ed on my Fibro! Everything!  Help I have literally no one. I ask the gp and they tell me nooo toy don't need to go anywhere!

    Hello. I tested HPV positive around 4 years ago. I had a colposcopy to remove a polyp found.

    One year later and tested positive again for HPV .

     Was told ok to leave and be retested again I think a few months later. I think cells were ok.

     By the third smear my body had cleared it from my system.

     Apparently your body can and most likely will clear in many cases.

    Sending you thr biggest of hugs .

    I've been hpv positive for years.

    I've had a few colposcopies due to abnormal smears.

    And lletz. 

    Had my last lletz in apt and went for a follow up smear 4 weeks ago and borderline changes have been found. Here I go again for a colposcopy.  I'm scared witless again. 

    I don't have a easy time with them .

    Because I'm all new to this, I had to go looking for my own support and I'm usually a strong one. But rheres just some things that you need people who gone through the same things.  But I've never gone or been sent for any Coloposcopy ever...my smears throughout have always been clear always. Till 3yrs ago. That's all really and sending hugs back to tou all.. no matter who any of you are... stages. This is very new to me.  Sorry
