Hello Everyone,
At the start of the year around March time I was feeling really unwell and feverish. I went to the doctors for them to say I had tonsilitis and was given antibiotics. 6 weeks later and 3 more lots of antibiotics I had never fully felt like my energetic, proactive self again. I had started to notice my right tonsil has not gone down and a little bit of sweeling in my neck. So with this I went to urgent care mainly for a different opinion and they once again said it was just a viral infection and it will pass.
At this point I just moved on even though I never felt 100% myself. 7 months later, my tonsil had gotten slightly larger and the neck node had felt more harder but not a lot bigger, with a persistent sore throat and the feeling of something in my mouth almost like hair that wasn't there (Not seen anyone talk about this before.) so I went back to the GP, the doctor had one look and she referred me for 2ww ENT. I seen the ENT on 11th November and he explained that the tonsil and nodes are enlarged but do not look alarming after examination.
I was given an option of Tonsillectomy and MRI or just MRI and see where we are at that stage. I told the doctor I would go with his recommendation of Tonsillectomy and MRI. I have already had a call for an MRI on Saturday 18th which surprised me (SO QUICK).
I just wanted to share my experience and get your thoughts and experiences:)
