Pelvic Pain

Hi, first time posting here, I started with really sharp pelvic pain around 3 weeks ago, I went to the GP who did an internal examination and urine tests, they sent me for an ultrasound which I’ve just had today, they only did an external pelvic ultrasound, it seemed to be really fast (2 minutes). The sonographer didn’t say anything just said results would be with GP in a week and I said do I need an internal scan he said no. He only seemed to look in the middle of my pelvis/abdomen he didn’t go to each side or anything and he actually cut my belly as he dragged it across my skin.
Not sure what to think of it. My periods are ok. My stomach is bloated, I’ve been getting awful pain, fullness, burning, and need to pee fast but not a UTI as tests confirmed. Been worried it’s something wrong with my ovaries but the scan was so fast I think if they saw something maybe they’d have taken longer?
Don’t know what to think but hate waiting and just need to chat as I have no one I can talk to about anything like this.
we also just lost a close relative to cancer and so i don’t know if im over thinking things.

  • Hi EggPodge1987,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand your concerns if it feels like they weren't thorough. While I'm sure the specialist would have done what they needed to do to get the appropriate answers, you should raise any concerns you have with your doctor when you speak to them about the results. You can explain what happened at the appointment, and ask questions about the examination and what it covered.

If you feel you need more to get peace of mind, you can always ask for a second opinion or a second referral, and see what the GP says about this.

I hope you're able to get some reassurance soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
