B3 calcification's biopsy result and require surgery

Hello, im new here. I am 37 and noticed a lump in my left breast about 6 weeks ago. I was referred for a breast examination and had a mammogram and biopsy which showed speckles of calcifications.

My biopsy results were B3 and need further investigation and I have been booked in for surgery to remove the calcifications and be sent for another biopsy. I was so overwhelmed i didn't ask any questions about what the possible outcomes could be and i'm really confused. Has anyone else been through this?

Thanks x

  • Hi Bmartina,

Avery warm welcome to our forum.

Have you been given a specialist nurse, who you can refer to in cases like this? Most of us forget a lot of what is said at these appointments, which is why it is often helpful to take someone with you. The nurse will have access to your medical notes and they are usually very helpful. You may find that you will have to leave a message initially, but they usually get back to you quite quickly. Write down a list of any questions you have before you phone - this way you shouldn't overlook anything important.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer. I usually take 2 copies of my questions to every appointment. I give one to my hubby and he writes down the answers, as I ask the questions.

Have you got a date for your surgery yet?

Please keep in touch. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
