Vicki

Hi my husband is 75 and was diagnosed in Feb 22 with star 3 myeloma he has had 3 different cycles of chemo which are only bringing the myeloma into a  partial response and he was therefore unable to have stem cell transplant his chemo had made him very poorly he became anorexic extreme weight loss and constant diorama throughout. Her has had numerous scans endoscopy etc but it would appear the hero caused the extreme weight loss etc. He saw his consultant about 8 weeks ago and is due to see him again t the end of next week.. He is off all medication with a view to watch and wait?

The roller coaster ride and uncertainty has been so difficult I fear we are now approaching a final stage and would like some hones conversation with his oncology team how is the best way to go about this any advice please.

  • Hi Freya100,

I'm sorry to hear of your situation and I can understand you want some information about what to potentially expect. Think about what you want to know the answers to, and what you need to know to help you prepare for any next steps. Make a note of anything you're not sure about, or possibly anything you want to question about what's happened so far. The specialist will be able to advise accordingly, so try to make the most of the appointment by finding out anything you want or need to know.

In the meantime, hopefully you'll get some more replies here from other members of the forum if people see your post and have some further advice or thoughts to offer. We're always here if you need it.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
