Second breast biopsy still inconclusive

Second breast biopsy still inconclusive

I went to the breast surgeon a few days ago to get the results from a second breast biopsy . I was told it was still inconclusive but they are going ahead with surgery in a few weeks to remove the lump and a couple of ducts from under my armpit and will then be able to tell me the diagnosis and what treatment I will require .

They also said that the lump although small was not in instu .My question has anyone else had  this situation and if so what happened afterwards.Im finding it all very confusing

    Hi ArtyAl,

    A very warm welcome to our forum. I am so sorry to hear that you are no further forward after your second biopsy. No two cancers are the same. Once you have had your surgery, the tissue removed will be sent to Pathology to be examined. This is common procedure after all breast surgery. This will identify whether there is any cancer present or not. If there is, it will also identify what type and size of cancer you have. Once this has been established, your care team will decide on the best treatment for you.

    A number of people have had a similar experience to you, some with better outcomes than others. I myself have had 2 bouts of breast cancer, within a year of each other and I still live life to the full, some 14 years later. Have you been given a date for your surgery yet?

    Thank you for your reply to my question it's kind of you 

    My surgery is scheduled for November 1st this year ,so not long to wait and I will just be glad to at least find out what I'm dealing with .

    Yes I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this experience,I think I had just built myself up to hear the result ,however not long to wait now .I will keep in touch and let you know .I'm glad you are keeping well despite having been through it twice
