Hello :)

Big lump here too, but I didn't find it myself, it was found by the ANP when I went to get checked out for some burning sensation in my boob. She estimated mine at 5cm. 

I've just got my hospital appointment for the 25th Sept. It's a really anxious wait but you're not alone :) It's hard not to think the worst. I'm trying to keep busy and failing miserably.

Same here. I seem to be so tired all of a sudden and instead of getting out of bed and doing things I'm just moping around. 

I've been lucky that my boss told me I could work from home on weds and today, so I'm moping but also working (in my pyjamas!). I'm slowly now coming to terms with things, it could be good or bad, i can't change anything by worrying. The positive is that we've taken the first step, whatever happens we will be in the good hands of our hospital teams :) x

I'm praying for good news, as I start University on Monday and really don't want to miss anything 

Uni is a great thing to focus on :)

I am sorry to hear that you have found a lump, but glad to hear that you have acted quickly. It is an anxious time, but you have definitely done the right thing. I hope that your breast clinic appointment comes through soon, so that you can get some answers.  I lost my gran, mum and several other relatives to breast cancer and have since had two bouts myself. That was all 14 years ago and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

I don't know what age you are. With you just about to start university, I expect that you are still quite young. This should mean that you are less likely to get breast cancer than some of us oldies. As Laraj says, many lumps turn out to be benign cysts or fibrous changes. It is a fact that only 2 people out of every 10, who attend the breast clinic, will get a cancer diagnosis, so the odds are still good for you.
