Longest week ever! Waiting for breast lump biopsy results.

Hi, all. Currently in limbo waiting for results from a biopsy taken from a lump in my breast on Monday.

I had an ultrasound, mammogram, then 3 biopsies and a marker placed, followed by a second mammogram. In the meeting afterwards the nurse said there was some suspicious looking areas on the scans. I've spoken to her again today as feel like as the shock is wearing off, I've forgotten what was said. Today she's made it sound less serious and mentioned that the lymph nodes looked normal on the ultrasounds.

Feel like I'm losing my mind waiting for the results, and listening to what she said today sounded completely different to what I heard on Monday.

Trying to keep busy and stay positive, I'm 35 and know at my age chances are everything will come back OK, but the anxiety of the situation is becoming inbearable. Lack of sleep and hormones in the mix aren't helping either!

good luck , I had breast cancer july 22 I was told suspicion from the first appointment so I sort of knew I was getting a diagnosis , after 7 day wait it was confirmed.

tdy not to worry there is no way of knowing until those results come back

keep busy busy wishing you all the luck in the world love Lara xxxx

  • Hi your doing the right thing trying to keep busy but I know how u feel waiting on these results ,I'd to wait for 12 day's for mine,I found keeping a note book with me at all times helped even if u just manage to scribble down part of what u hear and name of person u spoke to hope this might help

  • Thanks for the tip, I will definitely keep notes. I was in such shock after the biopsies when they said it looked suspicious I forgot most of what was said.

My appointments come through for Thursday, so at least there's an end date to the waiting now.

  • Ye do and bring the note pad with u when u go for your results write down any questions u may have now and if needed hopefully not u can ask what u wanted to know, they don't mind u doing so, if it doesn't go well they will advise u to keep notes because it can all get very confusing trying to keep track of what's happening when do u get results
