Endometrium thickness and polyp

I don't even no where to start but I'm new here and I'm 34 and 3 days ago I have a hysteroscopy and d&c to remove the polyp and the thickness lining around the polyp.. I was awake during the procedure and it was so traumatic...i suffer with mental health and been worrying about this for a while and now waiting for the results it's killing me it's only been 3 days and I'm so low... I was only expecting a polyp removal until I was there and she told me I also had endometrium thickness which has totally thrown me.. I jump when my phone rings and in my head iv thought of the worst..someone said I'd get a letter with the results and the one who did the procedure spoke over her saying no ill ring her with the results... I no your all going through similar things but I feel like my life is on hold I'm sorry for the long post I wish you all well

  • Hi Gem.

I'm much much older than you - 67. I've had 2 hysteroscopies so far- both v v v painful and a polyp removed I've had a mirena coil fitted- also v painful ! to thin the lining of uterus. From what I understand the coil is v good at thinking lining.

  • They are so painful I was only having a polyp removed and then they told me in there the had to do something else like shaving the lining and the polyp was broad so had to do d&c it was so traumatic I nearly passed out... Iv tried mirena coil before but it made my other dignoises worse so it's not suitable for me which is frustrating... Im struggling so bad with waiting for the results not knowing if it's pre cancerous or cancerous...i have no kids so really scares me that it's slowly being taken away from me... How long did you wait for results from your hysteroscopy if you don't mind me asking? Hope your ok

  • I agree I had a hysteroscopy last year and it was so painful I had a polyp and Fibroid removed and biopsies it was really traumatic I could hardly breathe for the pain ,thankfully she was able to tell me straight after that she hadn't seen anything worrying but I still had to wait for results from biopsies so about 2 weeks later the results came by post I hardly dared open the envelope but I did and it said there was nothing serious such a relief .

  • That's amazing so glad everything was fine... Its crazy how painful they are while being awake through it... I did ask her if everything looked ok and she said there is more than just a polyp removal as there is endometrium thickness around the polyp and didn't say everything looked ok my head has completely run off with everything I feel so sick waiting for the results and my mental health has dropped so much I feel numb but feel of emotion at the same time...its only been 3 days so I no i have a long wait for the results... Have you had any other problems since last year? X

  • Its impossible to think of anything else until you get the all clear, and getting the phone call from my Surgery saying they'd put me on the 2 ww cancer path I was so shocked I just burst out crying on the phone I only went to the Docs because I'd had continuous Diahrrea for a month and I'd lost weight and had bloating etc so I ended up having a Colonoscopy and a Hysteroscopy ,as I say thankfully there was no signs of cancer and since last October I've been absolutely fine ,I hope all goes well when you get your results hopefully its not too long ,let us know how you get on there's always someone on here to offer good advice .

  • I waited 6 weeks. Tho that is not the normal for my area should have been 2/3 weeks.
