Worried after biopsy and lymph nodes

Hi, I had ultraspund yesterday and mamogram. A lump is solid and they found enlarged lymph nodes. Had multiple biopsy and now waiting 1 week for results. I am lucky I am under private health care and saw a consultant straight away. He said they are very concerned. My husband is trying to be positive until we know what we are dealing with but I am the sort of person that needs to prepare myself for worse case scenario. As the consultant said we are very concerned a few times I am guessing they can tell from scans it is very likely the C word. Has anyone had a lump and enlarged lymph nodes that had turned out to be negative? I am 38 with 2 young children so naturally feeling all sort of thoughts.  Thanks in advance for any replies

try not to worry to much this could come back clear .

my first appointment was a mamo after the msmo they called me in to another room said they got something suspicious they need to biopsy I then knew I could feel the atmosphere in the room change , they also told me for my appointment 7 days later to make sure my husband attended with me . From then I knew I was deffo getting I diagnosis .

at that point nothing felt in my nodes however I had a lunpectomy and node biopsy after that operation I had a teeny trace in one node so I then went on to have a 2 nd operstion rsmoving 30 nodes these came back clear .

this all sounds horrific but it really wasn’t don’t get me wrong I had uo and down days a few wobbles along the way .

I continued to work right through lived normal ignoring it and this worked for me as crazy as it sounds , I now feel one year on like it never happened life is fully back to normal and I don’t give it a thought , breast cancer treatment has come on a long way .

  • Hi Vanessa,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I had 3 cancer scares within the one year. My consultant thought that all 3 were suspicious. Fortunately, he was wrong about the middle one. When the biopsy results came back this was benign. Unfortunately, he was right about the other 2. I had 6 lymph nodes removed, but all were clear. However, that was 14 years ago and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life. Treatments have come a long way in the past few years.

You are bound to be worried at present, but try to remind yourself that no amount of worry will alter the outcome. I sincerely hope that all turns out well for you. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Thank you and for sharing your story. My husband thinks I should stay off forums but it is helping me prepare x

  • My husband said the same , but it helped me so much that’s how I’m still here a year on to help others if I can had to be your decision xx

  • Hi thought I would say that I personally find some folk over play it on here. Don't jump to the negative wait for the consultant to explain what is needed. Take your husband with you as not all that is said you will remember ask for all in a letter. That gives you time to read & search on Web for information.  This site is good you can discover lots. The best doctors are with you. Best wishes .

  • This is Vanessarobbo's post.  Yours is negative I found frightening 30 lymph glands removed.I had no lymph involvement,  2 were taken as I was part of a research program. Sorry to disagree with you.

I was simply telling my story 100 percent truth so it’s negative for me but it no means to anyone else .
