Invasive lobular cancer diagnosis

Hey everyone - new to the group and wanted to say hi!

I have always had 2 fibroadenoma since age 22 - I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and aneurysm aged 40 and as part of scans referred to breast clinic (that was 10 years ago) breast clinic did mammogram and biopsy and all good, come back in 10 years age 50 for repeat mammogram as part of screening programme.

couple of months ago started to experience some changes in left breast where bigger fibroadenoma was (10 xm) so went to gp who did referral - 2 weeks later further mammogram completed and again no issues presented - met back with surgeon and because of breast pain and not feeling right surgeon agreed to remove, 2 weeks later removed in day surgery, went back to clinic 2 weeks later and given the devastated news they had found invasive lobular cancer - walked out literally numb! Next 2 weeks have had a CT and MRI scan and ultrasounds with biopsies (clips inserted into smaller fibroadenoma in right breast) was supposed to be going for final results and treatment plan last Thursday but on the morning received a phone call to say moved to a week later due to the consultants not having time to discuss my case at MDT - I was devastated to have to wait another week - trying to keep busy and distracted until Thursday and hoping for the best!

thanks for reading - Maddie x

sorry you are here, it’s not good news however at least it’s been found and you can be treated imagine if it was left it could have Ben a different story in a few years , good thing is it’s probably been caught early and you will get good treatment.

a diagnosis is a shock as we don’t think it’s ever going to happen to us , but you do get through it and move on I’m o r year on after breast cancer at diagnosis thought my world had ended but soon you get through it and life goes back to how it akways was x

Big hugs here to chat or help love Lara
