Hello LizzieMac and welcome to the forum although I'm sorry to hear you're having to wait a while for your results.

Unfortunately this seems to be the way of things at the moment and how long you have to wait can be affected by what part of the country you're in and whether the department that is processing your results is working through a backlog or not.

I know this doesn't make the wait any easier but hopefully the support of our members will as many of them have been in a similar situation, so they will definitely understand what you're going through at the moment and may be able to offer some advice.

I recently waited 7 weeks for results after hysteroscopy biopsies. But called medical secretary and found out I'd been ' overlooked' ie missed out!. Do call gynae but med sec they are the efficient ones.

I've chased it up and they said the would email the Dr. who saw me so waiting still.

It just such a long time to leave people.

I've been ill with one thing after another since; currently have the worse cold sore ever. I'm sure its all down to stress over uncertainty. 

Were your results ok in the end Gillm?

Not cancer but hyperplasia with atypia ie precancerous. So not too bad I guess. Had a coil fitted instead of going straight to hysterectomy as have had a lot of abdominal surgery inc bowel cancer op. Fingers crossed it works.

From experience I'd say don't stop chasing. I've rung every 3 days in the past for weeks even if Dr has been emailed I'd still persist.

Waiting is very stressful. My other thing to say is to allow yourself a time to worry - each day like 30 mins. Then decide if anything will change if you continue. It won't so distract yourself if y can, treat yourself to something until your next worry slot. May work sort of does for me .
