New here and worried about my brother

Hi

I don't think anyone can help but its mire getting it off my chest.

I was widowed 2 years ago through cancer and covid but my brother had a high psa for prostate then, it was 12 but he refused to get any further checks or treatment

This was over 3 years ago and since then a kidney is leaking, found out through a nlood test, he was made to have by gp or risk them stopping medication.

My brother is 73 and had a stroke 20 years ago so not on vest health anyway.

He has got worse now where he is constantly tired, pale parlour, breathless with a cough, tho he smokes. Can barely shuffle around and hasn't been out in a few months.

His voice is very strained, he is only eatjng very little and losing weight. Tven yesterday he said his bones ache and fir a very long time, he has said his tummy feels lumpy.

Obviously, I am worried this is cancer that has progressed as my husband had stomach cancer

He is married but he won't let his wife inform anyone, it must be upsetting her as she goes shopping every day prob because she doesn't want to see him deteriorating

Also to add, he can't pass urine easily but hies very frequently

Thanks for letting me rant

  • I'm really sorry to hear about your brother Westcroftgirl.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult it must be for you and his wife to see him this way.

I know there isn't much I can say or do that can make this any better but I hope writing everything down has helped and hopefully it won't be long until you receive some support and advice from the community.

If you'd like to discuss your brother's situation with one of our cancer nurses, they're just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to help.

    Kind regards,
