Post menopausal bleeding

Hi. Thought I would join. So I have my first apt on 13 July. I had an endometrial ablation 15 years ago and then last month my period came back, horrific cramping and brown/black discharge, this month cramping and bloating only. I've suffered alot of bloating for years and had bladder urgency issues too. I always had horrific pain, hence the ablation. My sister has terminal lung cancer, my mum has multiple myeloma and had a stroke recently, my step dad has Alzheimer's. My partner has only moved in a couple of months ago and my son has Asperger's and bpd. I haven't told my mum and step dad about apt as I don't want to worry them. The GP didn't do any blood tests or examine me she said that i needed to go straight to see the specialist. I was just wondering do they tell you anything at that first appointment? If not do they tell you by phone or letter? Many thanks

  • Hi Dor1e,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It sounds like you've been going through a lot recently. It's good to hear you don't have too much longer to wait for your appointment. If you haven't had any tests yet, you may not get any answers at the appointment, although I can't say for sure. If any tests are required, you may then get a follow-up appointment to discuss. However it would be best to talk this through with the specialist at your appointment so you can have an idea of what to expect - make the most of the appointment and ask any questions you may have.

    Wishing you all the best,
