Post menopausal bleeding and 10mm endometrium. Having to repeat the procedure

Hi, I'm 62 and have had post menopausal bleeding. I had an hysteoscopy under general anesthetic a month ago. I've been bleeding ever since and starting to feel unwell.

I contacted the consultant secretary a couple of days ago for my results. The consultant is on holiday and due back next week. The secretary said my GP would have my results because she wasn't allowed to discuss them with me. The pathologist said there were no endometrial cells and recommends a repeat of the procedure. I don't understand why, as I had it done under GA. I'm quite concerned because I was fast tracked to have the procedure, which now needs to be repeated and the bleeding is worse mow than before.

I had no polys or fibroids and endometrium was 10 mm. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • Hello Scwalli,

I am not sure why they had to repeat the procedure and can imagine this is a bit frustrating for you to have to go through it all over again. Hopefully this won't delay things too much for you and you will have some definite answers soon on what is causing the bleeding.

I hope you won't mind but I have changed the title of your thread to make it more specific and easier to spot by other members of the forum who may be going through a similar situation. I will now let them come and share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that you get a full diagnosis soon.

    Best wishes,
