Early stage her2 breast cancer

Hi. Ive been waiting for chemo to start since diagnosis early may. Is this normal to wait so long? Im finding it difficult coping ...feeling very low. I did have my oncology consultation yesterday and the treatment plan is more than i thought it would be. Chemo x 6, surgery, radiotherapy and a year of injections. It all feels like its hit me hard today:(

  • Hi Leanne, thank you for your reply to my post. Im sorry to hear yr going through this too. How are you after your chemo rounds? I finally got a date so first one will be 11 July, Im feeling very drained from all the stress of last few weeks but have lots of support thankfully. Im getting on with things and trying to be as positive as I can. xx

  • Hi there

im actually totally fine!! Won’t sugar coat it, you feel drained but it’s only for a couple days, well I have anyway! I’ve been very fortunate to not have nausea etc! I did suffer from migraine this time but they sorted me out with medication and that past! I have started writing off the first 4-5 days after chemo as you don’t feel yourself then I just seem to ping back to my usual self!! I’m having a good week and next week will be good, just in time to start treatment next Friday again!! Just make sure u enjoy urself when u are feeling good with family and friends!!! The waiting around is defo the worst but once it starts it does get easier as u know u jjst have to get on with it to make us better!!! xx

Always here for a chat xx

  • Hi Kfer,

I'm delighted to hear that you have finally got you date for starting chemo and that it's fairly soon. Here's hoping that it all goes well for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
