Kidney cancer

Hi everyone

I guess we all have something in common here I recently had a fast growing stage 2 cancer tumour removed from my kidney. Just wondering if anyone here has had this and if you are having any problems with your bones hurting. Many thanks

  • Hi PQR,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing difficulties with the pain. Do discuss this with your doctor/specialist when you can, as they will be best placed to advise and offer help with this as needed.

Aside from that, hopefully you'll get some more replies here soon, particularly if others have similar experience to share.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi l had a kidney nephrectomy for a tumour to everyone's shock the whole kidney was a malignant tumour. After the surgery had further surgeries for two other cancers. ( all primary cancers) we know it has spread due to lymph node biopsies not Diagnosed yet with a secondary. Am on several medications and pain killers have really bad pains in bones can last for days then be ok for few days then back with a vengeance. Am waiting for referral for another dexascan then will take it from there when get results. The cancers l have there is high probability it had spread to the bones, or lungs, or brain. I remain positive and keep a sense of humour, l try to keep busy not necessarily active as some days it is too painful, knitting, sewing, reading, crosswords, things that need a bit of concentration, a gentleman l used to see when having chemotherapy sessions said he had taken up model making the airfix plane kits to keep his mind occupied and take it away from the situation. You could try this to see if it helps but do discuss it with your dedicated cancer nurse.

    Wish you well

  • Hi Nanny Chrissy

Thank you for your reply sorry to hear that you have been through all of this. I have been keeping busy I have kept working even from the hospital bed much to the surprise of the surgeon . I love knitting I knitting for angel babies but at the moment I’m finding it difficult due to the pain like you it’s there for a few days then eases off but soon comes back. Wishing you all the best of luck x
