Hello,

I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in May 2021, Stage IIb head cancer, I underwent Whipple surgery in July 2021 and then had 12 cycles of Chemo therapy from November

2021 to March 2022. Found the Chemo worse than the surgery. Hope fully starting to make progress but biggest problem seems to be mentally rather than physically.

Cannot say enough thanks to all the NHS staff who helped me through this. Would like to hear from anybody with similar circumstances.

By the way, I am a 62 yr old Male.

  • Hello,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It sounds like you are making a good recovery after everything you've been through. Well done for getting through all these treatments and I am pleased to hear that the NHS staff were so good to you and helped you get through all this.

I hope that you will hear from other members who have had a similar diagnosis and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you!

Other members of our community who have been affected by cancer will understand the toll it can have on you not just physically but also as you pointed out on a mental level. It does help to talk to others here who understand this emotional impact and who can relate to what you are currently going through.

Keep updating us on how things develop for you if you get a chance!

    Best wishes,

  • Hello Lucie,

Thank you for your reply, really nice to hear from you. It is a great comfort to be able to tell your story and share it with countless others who have or are

experiencing the same physical and mental emotions. Its surprising what a few kind words of encourage meant can have on your well being.

    Tee gee.
