Immunotherapy for Endometrial cancer

Hi, I was diagnosed with recurrent endometrial cancer last year after having a full hysterectomy 11 years ago for Stage 1a.  I had the usual carbo/taxol chemotherapy last summer which was partially successful in reducing the tumours but it took a while for me to recover from that course so I do not wish to repeat it.

I have heard that a combination of Pembrolizumab and Lenvatinib was approved by NICE and NHS last month as a treatment regimen that could double length of survival and may even stabilise the disease.   The downside is that it has bad gastro - intestinal side effects.

Has any woman been offered this treatment or experienced it as part of a trial?   I would love to know more as I do not wish to unduly compromise my active lifestyle .   Many Thanks.

  • Hello Tocasita and a warm welcome to our forum,

I am sorry to hear that it took you a while to recover after your treatment and it's made you not want to repeat it. I hope that you will hear from other members of the forum who have had this treatment regimen and that they will tell you more as to whether they themselves suffered gastro-intestinal side effects.

If you have any questions about this, feel free also to give our cancer nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

    Best wishes,
