Panicking

I'm 53 years old & just had my ca125 level blood test come back at 40.

I've been experiencing pelvic pressure for a while but always thought it was my prolapse.

Now I'm stressing so badly because I don't feel like eating and it looks like I'm losing weight.

I'm so scared.

  • Hi

I'm sorry this has caused so much stress and worry for you. Have you been referred for scans or anything?

Please try not to worry over the unknown. Whatever the reason for the raised CA125, hopefully they will get to the bottom of it soon and put a plan in action. There is a high chance there is an underlying benign reason for the raised CA125.

I hope you get some answers soon and it will alleviate some stress x

  • I'm waiting for a pelvic ultrasound & vaginal scan & gp said it would be anytime up to 5 weeks

I'm so scared. I've not eaten properly for 7 days due to god knows plus stress

  • The waiting is not great but unfortunately it is part of the process to find and deal with answers.

Try to focus on other things, I will be honest I found it nearly impossible to think of anything else but even the small glimpses of my mind being on something else do help.

The waiting is the worse part to process what might be and being scared and feeling stressed is all part of the parcel.

I talked a lot to close friends to get me through the time and I painted a lot of walls in my house, in the moment it didn't seem to make the time go any quicker but when I look back it probably did.

I hope you get seen quickly for the sake of your stress and anxiety.

    Xx

  • Hi I was in your position a few months ago with elevated ca125and I'd lost weight  I was sent for an ultrasound then straight for a Hysteroscopy ,at the end of it after all my worrying she was able to tell me they couldn't see anything nasty they removed a polyp and took Biopsies but all came back clear ,its easy to say don't worry but you just do but most people will not have cancer its just a check they do to make sure .
