Probable bowel cancer. Waiting for the colonoscopy..

Hi. Marco here. Two years ago I was diagnosed with bladder cancer. That one has been successfully treated. Now, severe constipation, pain in abdomen (right side) blood in stools and colonoscopy Friday. My sanity has had such a hit that I am struggling to do day to day activities... desperately looking for something to cling on...

Symptoms:

1.severe constipation. No bowel movement without cosmocol.

2. Bloating

3. Dull pain in right lower abdomen

Welcome to the forum Marco although I'm sorry to hear about the symptoms you've been contending with recently.
I know this must be worrying but I can see from your post that you have your colonoscopy tomorrow, so hopefully the results will be able to provide some good news and much needed peace of mind.
Hopefully some of our members who have been through this will share their experiences and advice with you soon but in the meantime, I want to wish you the best of luck for tomorrow and let you know we'll be thinking of you.
If you have any questions after you've had your colonoscopy, you can speak with our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday (except bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to help.

Hi steph. The colonoscopy went OK. Amazingly no cancer. Just a small polyp (5mm, binned). I have a contrast CT scan Tuesday to investigate of there could be anything else to explain all my symptoms. Otherwise just (!) A bad IBS occurrence.

That's great news Marco :happy: It must have been such a relief to hear that, and a huge weight off your mind too.
I hope your contrast CT goes well on Tuesday and is able to offer some insight on the cause of your symptoms.
