Breast lump

Hello everyone , I felt a month ago a lump in my breast my doc over the phone left out antibiotics which I took and made no difference I no have a app on Wednesday but I have severe social and health anxiety and I can't stop thinking the worse . It's about a cm and like a hard pea feels smaller when I am laid down and it feels like it's stuck on breast tissue . I do have bumpy breasts also I am a bigger lady . I guess I am just on here for some support as I am a single mum of 4 (23,21,17,13 ) and I lost my parents and sister so feel quiet alone

  • Thanks.  I got given my results and do have breast cancer and some tough times ahead. Its triple negative but I'll find out more as realising that breast cancer is not just one thing.

So not the best result. But for me, I'd say that knowing has been easier, the whole system is amazing and I now have to prepare for what is ahead.

  • Hi Rachel,

I am so sorry to hear this. I am sure that this is not the news you had been hoping for. There are indeed a number of different types and stages of breast cancer. As you said, it becomes easier to cope with, once you have a diagnosis, irrespective of the outcome. Have you discussed treatment options yet?

There will be tough times ahead, but it is all perfectly "doable". Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. Remember, that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

  • Thanks so much and I will. Its a blow but I've so fortunate in many ways. Lots of support being a big one and a great specialist centre 10 minutes away. Treatment plan to follow but they said to expect 5 months chemo first.  So trying to remain focussed and preparing. First tears today but I think all kinds of emotions will be normal.  This forum is great! X

  • Hi Rachel,

You will go through a plethora of emotions over the next few months. These will change like the weather. You are likely to feel anger, "why me", tearful, fear, anxiety, frustration, isolation and fatigue to name but a few. Tears are not such a bad thing, as they are a good stress reliever.

You might find it helpful to write dow any questions that spring to mind, as it is all too easy to forget something important suring a consultation - I did this for all of my appointments.

The main thing is to stay focussed and positive - you can and you will get through this. I found this forum a real boon, especially, in the early part of my journey.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
